President Mohamed Morsy plans to pay an official visit to Germany in January, state-owned newspaper Al-Ahram reported on Wednesday. Morsy would be accompanied by a delegation of Egyptian businessmen and would meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. German sources told Al-Ahram that Morsy will attend a symposium on the future of economic cooperation between Egypt and Germany. Representatives of German companies interested in investment in Egypt will also take part. During the visit, Morsy would also meet with the head of the German industries union as well as members and heads of parliamentary committees. The president's itinerary also includes meetings with representatives of the Egyptian community in Germany. Talks with German officials would focus on increasing German investments in Egypt and boosting the Egyptian economy. Germany provides aid to several infrastructure projects in Egypt, including electricity generation in Assiut and Nagaa Hammadi, Upper Egypt.
