Emirates Red Crescent continues to send aid to Yemen
Published in Albawaba on 24 - 07 - 2017

Hadhramaut [Yemen] - The Emirates Red Crescent Authority, ERC, has continued its distribution of food aid to those with special needs, poor families, and those with limited income in the Yemeni governorate of Hadhramaut.
The ERC today distributed food baskets to the people of the Brom Mayfa district in Hadhramaut, under the framework of its humanitarian campaign and the UAE's many rescue efforts, to help the people of Yemen reduce their suffering and improve their living and economic standards.
Mohammed Al Muhairi, Head of the ERC Team, stressed that the Authority will continue its efforts and diligent work to improve the lives of Yemeni citizens and reduce their suffering by maximising the reach of its activities and rescue operations, as well as providing a means of support to improve their conditions.
He added that the process of distributing food baskets is an extension of their ongoing rescue operations, aimed at reducing the burden on families living under harsh economic conditions in Yemen. He also highlighted the fact that the UAE's humanitarian aid to Yemen will continue to respond to the need of the local people for food aid through its humanitarian and developmental arm in the country, the ERC, as part of the directives of the wise leadership to reach all those who are deserving.
Colonel Nasser Ali Al Shuaibi, Director-General of the Brom Mayfa District, praised the ERC's key role in improving essential services, as well as the work of its rescue convoys for the people of Hadhramaut.
He stressed that the UAE has continuously provided a large amount of humanitarian aid to Hadramaut and other Yemeni governorates, which returned the smiles to the faces of women and children living in tragic humanitarian situations.
He added that the food aid, which was distributed today, has gained special importance among hundreds of poor and vulnerable individuals who cannot provide for the daily needs of their families as a result of the lack of opportunities to earn an income, due to the worsening living and humanitarian conditions in their country.
The people of the Brom Mayfa district expressed their appreciation for the Emirati aid, which will reduce their suffering after the drop in their standard of living, resulting from the deteriorating economic situation.
They also praised the UAE's generosity and the ERC's efforts towards giving and humanitarian works, thus lifting their burdens off their shoulders.
