Cairo - Transport Minister Hesham Arafat held on Thursday a meeting with French Ambassador to Egypt, Stephane Roumtier, on discussing means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of transportation. An ongoing plan is underway to develop the first and second metro lines at a total cost of 30.7 billion pounds, the minister said. Arafat urged to finalize under-construction metro lines as soon as possible to alleviate congestion in Cairo. The meeting also tackled projects being carried out by the French government to upgrade the transportation sector in Egypt.
