Addis Ababa - Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has pressed for action to complete technical studies about Ethiopia's renaissance dam as soon as possible. All obstacles should be removed to make sure the technical studies are finalized on time without any delay, Shoukry said at a meeting with his Ethiopian counterpart Workineh Gebeyehu in Addis Ababa on Saturday. Shoukry made it clear to Workineh that Egypt would be the party worst harmed in case the dam is completed and operated without taking Cairo's concerns into consideration, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid. Shoukry called for holding a three-way meeting between the water ministers of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan to outline directives to the technical committee to guarantee studies are completed in line with the set timetable, Abu Zeid added. The meeting was held on the sidelines of meetings of the African Union Executive Council. The two top diplomats also took up the overall bilateral relations along with three-way cooperation including also Sudan, added the spokesman.
