Berlin - German security bodies have spotted suspicious and illegal activities by the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group in the eastern sector of Germany, the Egyptian ambassador in Berlin said. Speaking to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) on Sunday, June 11, Badr Abdel Aati said such illegal activities include building mosques and pumping funds into non-Muslim dominated areas. "The German authorities are now dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group," he said, adding that this move was taken after a number of the MB militant movements, such as Hasm (or Decisiveness), claimed responsibility for several terrorist attacks in Egypt. Terror attacks in Egypt have killed hundreds of policemen and soldiers since mid-2013 after the military removal of former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in response to mass protests against his one-year rule and his currently outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group.
