Cairo –Ahmed Al Mismari, Spokeperson of Libyan National Aramy (LNA) said on Friday that two senior Egyptian militants had been found to be operating in Derna, one of them is Hisham Ashmawi. According to Mesmari account along with Egyptian formal sources; there were satellite phone calls between Minya in Souhern Egypt and Derna in Eastern Libya had been made before the attack on Chrisitan Egyptians on 26th of May, tha left 31 dead and several injured. Egypt has carried out air strikes in Jufra (Souhtern Libya), as well as in the far eastern city of Derna. Ashmawi is wanted not only by Egyptian state, Libyan army, but also by other terrorist groups in Libya. He is the Emir of Al-Qaeda-linked group called ‘ Jama'ah al-Morabitoon. Born in 1978, Ashmawy is a fitness fanatic whose political views were slow to emerge, according to relatives. He joined a special forces unit called Sa'aika (Thunderbolt) in 1996, giving no sign of opposition to then President Hosni Mubarak, said relatives and associates. According to Reuters' profile of him, he spent years in Sinai and knows the region well. The former Egyptian Special Forces officer called on scholars to support Al Qaeda's jihad. In March 3rd 2016, he released an audio message in which he called on scholars to support the jihadists' cause.
