Cairo - Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr met on Monday with Laura Kansikas-Debraise, the Finnish Ambassador in Cairo, to discuss ways to boost economic and technical cooperation between the two countries. Both sides discussed increasing Finnish investments in Egypt upon the Parliament's ratification of the new investment law. Within this context, the ambassador said that the new law encouraged Finnish investors to explore the local market in Egypt. She noting that she was looking forward to such increased investments during the upcoming period, especially in the field of renewable energy, such as the manufacturing of electronic devices (based on wind energy and solar panels), development of the electricity grid in Egypt using advanced Finnish technologies, and increasing investments in the fields of energy efficiency and capacity building, besides, the fields of education and telecommunications. From her part, Nasr said Egypt is open to all Finnish investments. She made it clear that the new investment law includes many incentives for businessmen.
