Riyadh - President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi had talks on Saturday with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on bolstering bilateral ties. The talks were held in Riyadh on the sidelines of an Arab-Islamic-American summit, grouping leaders of several Arab and Islamic countries along with U.S. President Donald Trump. During the meeting, El-Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness on promoting bilateral relations and exchanging expertise in the various fields, Presidential Spokesperson Alaa Youssef said in statements. Rahmon, for his part, expressed his appreciation of Egyptian-Tajik relations, saying he was closely following up the latest developments in Egypt over the past three years and Egypt's success in restoring its status at the regional and international levels, the spokesperson added. The two leaders also stressed the importance of boosting economic cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries, he added. They also discussed promoting international efforts to uproot terrorism, underlining the importance of culture, military and security cooperation on this score, said the spokesperson. The Tajik president also extended an official invitation to President el-Sisi to visit his country. El-Sisi promised to visit Tajikistan at the earliest opportunity, the spokesperson said.
