Cairo - Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday discussed, over phone, with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, bilateral relations and meetings scheduled for the coming period between the foreign and defense ministers of both countries, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said. The two top diplomats also tackled efforts of political settlement in Syria and the outcome of recent peace talks in the Kazakh capital Astana, the spokesperson noted. They asserted the importance of pushing ahead political talks in Geneva, and reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis, he added.
