Cairo - Egypt's MP Mohamed Abou Hamed stated that the draft he submitted to amend the law of the organization of Al-Azhar is in no way offensive to Al Azhar or to the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed El Tayib. In a telephone conversation with El Hayah Channel on Monday, Abou Hamed said that the bureau of the parliament would have rejected the law in the event of any constitutional abuse or defect and would not have referred it to the plenary session if otherwise noting that he withdrew the draft following the rejection of some members. Abou Hamed pointed out that out of 250 parliament members, 50 withdrew their signatures on the draft and assured that he will work to win the approval of more members to reach the legal limit that will enable him to propose the draft once more. He stressed that there is no coordination with the presidency or any other entity with regards to the draft that he has been working on for a long time.
