Tanta (Northern Egypt) - Coptic Bishop Paula of Tanta said that the terrorist attack which coincided with Palm Sunday celebrations, that targeted the city's St. George Church, pushed the international community to consider the ways to eliminate terrorist threats, saying that the incident fuelled the energies of love between Egyptian citizens. The statement came during a memorial service organized by the engineers syndicate of the Gharbeya governorate. Tanta's St. George Church witnessed a terrorist attack during Palm Sunday's liturgy nearly three weeks ago. The attack, committed by a suicide bomber, led to the killing of 28 citizens. Concerning his role, the syndicate's Head Tariq Al Nabarawy called upon the Egyptian people for unifying themselves against terrorism, saying that such attacks aim to raise sectarian tensions among the Egyptian people all over the country. In the same context, Pastor Bishoy Wadea said that the meeting is considered an implicit message to those people who are striving to divide the Egyptian people, saying, "No one can undermine the unity of the Egyptian people. While terrorists managed to demolish the church's columns they will not be able to do the same with spiritual columns of our martyrs."
