President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi met on Sunday in Washington with the CEO of General Electric, Mr. Jeff Immelt. President Al Sisi affirmed Egypt's interest in cooperating with all US companies across various fields. He noted GE's extensive and long experience in the Egyptian market and its outstanding activities in a range of fields. The President highlighted the legislative and administrative measures that the Egyptian government has adopted to provide a climate conducive to investment. He affirmed the importance the government attaches to overcoming impediments that investors face so as to attract further investment in various sectors. Mr. Immelt stated that GE looks to increase the size and scope of its activity in Egypt, given the promising opportunities available in a number of sectors. He lauded the economic reform measures that Egypt has taken to enhance the business climate and improve Egypt's economic outlook. President Al Sisi also met with the CEO of Lockheed Martin, Ms. Marillyn Hewson. The President lauded the company's contributions to supplying Egypt with military aircraft, spare parts and necessary equipment, in addition to their ongoing cooperation in the field of technical training. Ms. Hewson valued the longstanding cooperation between Egypt and Lockheed Martin and expressed the company's keenness on boosting cooperation at various levels in the upcoming period.
