Cairo - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended on Tuesday celebrations of the Egyptian Mother's Day. The ceremony, which was attended by the Egyptian first lady, started with reciting some verses of the Holy Quran. A documentary film on the role played by the women in the society was shown in the ceremony. Addressing the celebration, Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali hailed women as the main pillar of the Egyptian families. She underscored the important directives given by President Sisi to empower women while laying down and implementing development plans. The women made unprecedented progress on the way to the parliament as their number for the first time reached 90 lawmakers in Egypt's House of Representatives.
