Cairo - Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry led on Saturday 28/1/2017 Egypt's delegation to meeting of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) as part of the activities of the 28th session of the African Union in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. The Egyptian participation in APRM has a great importance in light of the role played by the mechanism as part of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) initiative that was launched in 2003, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid. Shoukry in his speech at the meeting stressed Egypt's belief in the importance of the mechanism as a means of achieving comprehensive development in Africa. Shoukry affirmed Egypt's support for the activities of the mechanism which reflects Africa's adherence to the values of comprehensive development. The mechanism aims at promoting wise governance policies and economic development, the minister added.
