Cairo - The Fatwa Observatory (a watchdog group launched by Egypt's Dar al-Ifta to monitor religious opinions) praised on Tuesday the first-on-term contact between Egypt's President 'Abdel Fattah al-Sisi' and his American counterpart President 'Donald Trump', saying that, "it confirms the realization of the new American administration of the full brunt of responsibility borne by Egypt in the face of combating extremism and terrorism in the conflict-weary region." It comes as a reaffirmation of Trump's administration's commitment to cement the bilateral relations between the two countries, and to intensify the much-needed efforts in the coming period, whether in the quest of combating terrorism or in other development-related areas which are essential to besiege terroristic ideologies. In a phone call on Monday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed ways to boost the fight against terrorism and extremism, Reuters reports.
