Abdel Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of Rai al-Youm newspaper, underlined that Saudi Arabia has failed in harnessing its proxy force, the ISIL, and warned that the terrorist group will most likely launch terrorist attacks during the upcoming Hajj rituals. "These attacks (in Saudi Arabia) show that the Riyadh government has not only been defeated in the wars in Syria and Yemen, but also lost control over ISIL on its own soil," Atwan said following the Monday terrorist attacks in different parts of Saudi Arabia. Atwan said given the religious importance and sanctity of Medina, the terrorist attack in the holy city was more dangerous and bore more weight than others, because it showed that Hajj could pretty well be the next target of the terrorists. Two explosions hit two different parts of Saudi Arabia on Monday night. The first explosion hit the Qatif region in the Southern part of Saudi Arabia, but except the suicide bomber no one was hurt in the explosion. The second blast rocked outside Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) mosque when a suicide bomber blew up himself in the city of Medina on Monday night. At least six people were killed in Medina bombing. He underlined that the attacks in Saudi Arabia clearly indicate that ISIL's next target can be attacking millions of Hajj pilgrims, and said, "The ISIL is trying to display that it is still powerful and can take the battle to the countries that are combating the terrorist group."
