Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), announced Monday that total foreign exchange reserves reached $17.546 billion by end of June this year, which is considered to be an increase, compared to $17.521 billion in May. Egypt had paid back Qatar $1 billion for the deposit it made in CBE, including the last installment of the deposit, Al Bawaba News reported. CBE is working hard to provide the foreign currency needed for importation of goods, through decreasing the importation of unnecessary goods.
