UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura suggests that all parties to the intra-Syrian talks agree that Syria should cooperate with other states to prevent terrorist groups from being supplied with weapons and money, the draft document summarizing the current round of Syria talks seen by Sputnik on Thursday states.
The subject is one of 12 points de Mistura defined and submitted to the parties for approval under the title of "Essential Principles of a Political Solution in Syria."
"Syria calls on other states in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions, to prevent terrorist groups from being supplied with weapons, money, training, shelter, intelligence or safe havens and to refrain from inciting acts of terrorism," the document reads.
Staffan De Mistura suggests that all parties to the intra-Syrian talks agree that the Syrian government should have the exclusive right of controlling weapons of war in the country, according to a draft declaration of the Geneva talks obtained by Sputnik.
"The state and it's reformed institutions will exercise the exclusive right of controlling weapons of war," the document, prepared by De Mistura, reads.
UN Special Envoy for Syria suggests that all parties to the intra-Syria talks agree that a unified national army can include the members of the disarmed groups supporting the political transition in the country.
"Syrians are committed to rebuilding a strong and unified national army, also through the disarmament and integration of members of armed groups supporting the transition and the new constitution," the document prepared by De Mistura reads.
"There shall be no intervention by foreign fighters of Syrian soil," it adds.
The parties affected by the five-year Syrian civil war shall be paid reparations, a draft declaration on the last day of the latest round of intra-Syrian talks stated.
