Ministry of electricity will sign three agreements in January, most importantly El-Dabaa nuclear plant project for electricity generation in cooperation with Russian company Rosatom, Youm7 News reported Sunday. Minister, Mohamed Shaker announced that the negotiations with Russian experts will end in mid-January, in preparation for the signing of the final contract between Egypt and Russia, noting that Moscow granted Egypt a long repayment period. Shaker pointed out that the first reactor will be operational in 2025 and the rest will be introduced successively until 2028, with a total capacity of 4800 MW. The ministry will also sign an agreement for the establishment of a pumping and storage station with a capacity of 2100 MW.
