Ethiopian Foreign Minister Tedors Adhanom stated that Foreign and Water Ministers of Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia will hold a meeting in Addis Ababa soon, to discuss the issue of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), al-Masry al-Youm reported Wednesday. In a press statement released late Tuesday upon his arrival to Addis Ababa, Adhanom affirmed that the three countries have agreed on signing an initial agreement during their last meetings held in Khartoum, but he did not announce the next meeting's date. Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan signed an agreement on Tuesday finalizing the two firms tasked with carrying out studies on the potential impacts of Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam on Egypt and Sudan's share of Nile water, according to Reuters reports. Ethiopian Minister of Irrigation and Electricity denied that Egypt had demanded to halt the work at the project.
