President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi discussed Saturday a plan to develop a number of ports within the framework of the Suez Canal Economic Zone development, presidential spokesperson, Alaa Youssef said. This came in a meeting he held with Ahmed Darwish, head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Major General Kamel al-Wazeer, head of Engineering Authority, and Hisham Abu-Senna, head of the Red Sea Ports Authority. Sisi discussed the ports' capability to accommodate the expected increase in the volume of business to those ports following the completion of the development project of the Suez Canal Axis, which will include the establishment of several industrial zones to contribute to the advancement of industries of petroleum products, mineral oil and chemical products.
