Egypt commends Riyadh talks over Syrian crisis

Egypt's Foreign Ministry says the results of the Syrian opposition parties' meeting in Riyadh is an important step on the road to a solution to the four-year crisis.
"It is an effective step ahead of negotiations between the Syrian government and the opposition under the auspices of the United Nations and supported by the Vienna Group to support Syria, and on the basis of the Geneva Declaration," a statement issued by the foreign ministry read.
Spokesperson for the ministry, Ahmed Abu Zeid said the closing session of the Riyadh talks stressed on the unity of the Syrian territories as well as the sovereignty of Syria as a civil state.
