Egyptian Irrigation Minister, Hosam Al-Moghazi announced state of alert across the country in anticipation of heavy torrential rains, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. The Egyptian Meteorological Agency (EMA) announced another wave of torrential rains is expected next week, Moghazi said, adding the ministry's sectors reviewed preparation works in the Mediterranean cities, Alexandria and Beheira, which witnessed tragic consequences earlier in November. "Precautionary measures were staged and monitoring teams were deployed," Moghazi said, signaling to ministries' efforts in enforcing general drains, inland waterways and viaducts.
