Governor of Egypt's 2nd largest city resigns over flooding
The governor of Egypt's Alexandria has resigned over a poor response to flooding that devastated parts of the Mediterranean port city following a weekend rainstorm.
Hany el-Missiry's resignation, announced by government spokesman Osama Abdul-Aziz late Sunday, followed the death of at least six people as a result of the flooding in Alexandria, five of whom were electrocuted by a fallen power cable.

Cosmic rays to unravel Egypt's secrets: Advanced imaging may discover Queen Nefertiti's tomb and finally reveal how the pyramids were built
A group of Egyptian and foreign experts have launched a new bid to unravel the 'secrets' of the pyramids.
The project will involve a search for hidden chambers inside four famed pharaonic monuments using infrared thermography, 3D scans with lasers and cosmic ray detectors.
Architects and scientists from Egypt, France, Canada and Japan want to map two pyramids at Giza and the two Dahshur pyramids, south of Cairo.

Egypt Says 2 Senior Muslim Brotherhood Officials Arrested
Egypt's state-run news agency says security forces have arrested the secretary general of the Freedom and Justice Party, the Muslim Brotherhood's political wing, and another high-ranking Brotherhood member.
The news agency says on Monday Hussein Ibrahim, the dissolved party's secretary general, and El-Refei Hassan, were hiding in the western Mediterranean province of Marsa Matrouh on Egypt's north coast. It says they have confessed they were trying to reach Libya.
