Secretary-General of the Arab League (AL), Nabil El-Araby met in New York with the Council of Arab Ambassadors to the United Nations to discuss the results of the Security Council meeting held on Friday, Al Bawaba News reported Saturday. The meeting tackled the Palestinian issue, the implications of Israeli violations of Al Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem as well as means to provide the Palestinians and the holy lands with international protection. A Saturday statement by the AL Secretariat said the meeting proposed future steps to be taken by the Arab Group in New York to pursue this matter in the United Nations. El-Araby also met with the UN Under- Secretary for Political Affairs, Jeffrey Feldman, to discuss the latest developments of the Palestinian issue and ways of activating the international protection for the Palestinians, and the Syrian crisis under the results of the Quartet meeting, which included the United States, Russia , Saudi Arabia and Turkey. They also discussed the situation in Libya, the efforts of Bernandino Leon, the UN envoy to Libya and the efforts to form a new government, as well as the latest developments in Yemen.
