Spokesman of High Elections Committee (HEC), Omar Marwan announced Friday that there are more than 60 foreign embassies in Egypt has asked HEC for permission to follow-up parliamentary elections, Al Bawaba News reported. Marwan said that foreign embassies and organizations like Germany, European Union, Indonesia, Japan, India, and Africa, have all submitted requests to follow-up the upcoming parliamentary elections. He revealed that the HEC has agreed to give them permissions to follow-up the elections, stressing that these permissions will be delivered to them next week. Furthermore, he pointed out that Egyptians abroad can vote in 136 embassies and consulates around the world, noting that every embassy of those has a number of HEC sub-committees. He explained that every Egyptian resident abroad has the right to cast his vote for his favorite candidate in his constituency, which he is registered in as a voter, using only his Egyptian identification card or a valid passport.
