President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi laid flowers on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in the 42nd commemoration of the 6th October victory, Al-Bawaba news reported on Sunday. Al-Sisi was accompanied by Defense Minister Lt. General Sedki Sobhi and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. General Mahmoud Hegazy. The October 6 marks the 1973 war, dubbed as Yom Kippur War, where the coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria fought against Israel from October 6 to 25, 1973, to regain the Arab territories seized by Israel in 1967.
