Minister of Environment, Mohamed Fahmy said Saturday that Egypt will speak on behalf of African countries during the UN's climate change summit held in Paris, Al Bawaba News reported. The minister made this statement to Middle East News Agency (MENA), on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN's General Assembly held in New York, which President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi is currently attending. Fahmy explained that Egypt received the African countries' approval to speak on behalf of them on two subjects, the new and renewable energy in Africa, and the mobilization of the necessary financial resources to cope with the effects of climate change. He stressed that such a move would unite the African demands and interests and present a better chance to achieve them.
