Egyptian High Election Committee accepted Thursday a request submitted by steel tycoon Ahmed Ezz to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections, al-Bawaba News reported. Sources in the committee said Ezz received the ‘ship' as his electoral symbol. This comes after a court verdict that excluded Ezz, the former secretary of organization in the dissolved National; Democratic Party, from standing for parliamentary elections. Administrative Court rejected Tuesday Ezz's appeal against the High Election Committee's (HEC) decision that banned him from running for upcoming parliamentary elections, Youm7 News reported. The court ratified the previous verdict of Menoufia Administrative Court by excluding Ezz from participating in the upcoming elections.
