HEC will not extend elections nomination request period: official

High Elections Committee (HEC) spokesperson Omar Marwan said Thursday the committee would not extend Parliament elections nomination request period which will end on Saturday, Al Bawaba News reported.
Marwan added that the committee will continue to receive candidates' papers until September 15 in Qena Governorate.
He stressed that HEC did not have the right to appeal courts' verdicts, pointing out that the committee recommends only appealing and referring them to the State Lawsuit Authority which represents the government.
