Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has donated AED1 million to the #yemen_we_care humanitarian campaign launched recently by the Emirates Red Crescent to help 10 million Yemenis. The campaign supports the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, handed the cheque to Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent Dubai branch. The meeting was attended by Saeed Obaid Al Hily and Rashid Khamis Al Junaibi, departments heads at the Emirates Red Crescent. It was also attended by Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, and Jassim Rajab, Financial Controller at DEWA. "In response to the directives of our wise leadership who put the conditions of the Yemeni people at the forefront of their concerns, we are glad to be part of this wide humanitarian campaign to help our brothers in Yemen. The campaign reflects the spirit of giving that is inherent in the people, government, and leadership of the UAE, and their helping hands locally, regionally, and globally. This is done through many charities and humanitarian initiatives to help the poor, sick, widows, orphans, needy, and distressed in the UAE and around the world," said Al Tayer. "Over the years, DEWA has been committed to pioneering charitable, social, and humanitarian initiatives and contributions. This new campaign supports our corporate social responsibility, which DEWA is committed to, not only at the UAE level, but also in the Arab world as a whole," added Al Tayer.
