Egypt negotiates with China on establishing new power plants, upgrading electricity transmission and distribution efficiency to reach 500,000 volts, Al-Bawaba Newspaper reported on Tuesday. Egypt also negotiates with other countries on establishing carbon power plants in order to achieve electricity sufficiency. China currently involved in building hydroelectric pumped-storage power stations in Mount Ataka using solar energy. Minister of Electricity Dr. Mohamed Shaker stated that "Egypt is currently cooperating with the Chinese company of State Grid for the construction of a project to transfer electricity for a distance of about 1,200 km, which will assure electricity sufficiency. Concerning Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, the project is still under negotiations with Russia, South Korea, China, France and USA, Shaker stated.
