His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of his visit to Russia to attend the International Aviation and Space Show, MAKS 2015. Sheikh Mohamed conveyed the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Egyptian President and his best wishes for more success, growth and prosperity for Egypt and its people. President el-Sisi asked Sheikh Mohamed to reciprocate his greetings to President Khalifa and his appreciation of the honourable stances adopted by the leadership and people of the UAE towards Egypt and its people, as well as their support for Egyptian people's options and its free will. He wished more welfare and progress to the UAE. The meeting discussed ways to bolster bilateral ties in political, economic and developmental spheres and elevate these ties to new heights of robust strategic cooperation and coordination for serving the interests of the two brotherly countries and people in light of the circumstances the region is passing through, which requires concerted efforts for building an effective Arab strategy that is capable of addressing and confronting current challenges. Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's support for Egypt in political and developmental domains so as to enable it achieve development and stability. Egypt, H.H. said, remains the backbone of stability and a safety valve for the Middle East region given its strategic position and security role. This strategic position, he added, maximises the importance of backing and standing beside it. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and President el-Sisi took stock of the latest developments taking place in some countries in the region, where the two countries share identical points of view on a variety of regional and international issues of common concern. The two sides acknowledged the need to take swift measures to address and confront threats to Arab national security and international peace and security, particularly in the rapid spread of terrorism.
