Egyptian high-level security officials have arrived in Sharqeya Province, northeast of the country, to negotiate with police sergeants, who staged a sit-in over financial demands, al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. Sources from the police sergeants said an envoy from the presidency was on his way to Sharqeya to listen to their demands. Earlier on Sunday, police sergeants from all over Egypt have flocked into Sharqeya to assist their fellows who were allegedly attacked by central security forces, the sources added.
