Egypt's military spokesperson Mohamed Samir said on Saturday four militants were killed and 25 others were arrested in a security campaign against terrorist hotbeds in the Sinai Peninsula, Al Bawaba News reported. One of the arrestees, Gamal Salem, has been known as an explosives manufacturer, the spokesperson added. The Egyptian army has launched a wider campaign against an insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula following a string of deadly blasts, claiming hundreds of lives among security personnel and civilians since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi, July 2013.
