Violent clashes broke out Monday between a number of extremists and security forces in North Sinai's Sheikh Zowied city, Al Bawaba News reported. Witnesses said that the security forces exchanged fire with the militants, while the military forces launched airstrikes targeting their strangleholds. A security source said, in a statement to Youm7, that the forces killed a number of militants during the fire exchange, while the airplanes hit six targets related to Sinai's extremists. The authorities arrested 60 suspects during the security campaign.
