The new data requested by the State Council's Legislative Committee will not affect the Election Constituency Division Law, Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy, Transitional Justice Ministry's Adviser, said. The committee asked for the recent statistics released this month on the country's population count and the number of voters to review the draft law. The official stressed on the fact that the State Council had the right to obtain any data necessary while reviewing the laws. He added that the council had decided, when it began its revision on March 10, to rely on the January data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics. The Egyptian official said the different constituencies had as steady increase in their population during the period between January and May. He ruled out the new data would cause any more delay in the law's revision.
