The ‘Tahya Misr' National Coalition (Long Lives Egypt Coalition) praised Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab's decision to accept the Minister of Justice's resignation due to his prejudicial statements about the average Egyptian citizen, Al Bawaba News reported Tuesday. The minister had stated that "a garbage collector's son cannot join the judicial field because he must descend from a respectful family', giving rise to the public's anger. The coalition's spokesperson said that the ex-minister's statements offended large sections of the Egyptian society, adding that "the average Egyptian citizen has his own ambitions and the younger generations have the same rights in Egypt as a minister or a president." Saber expressed his controversial opinions Sunday during an appearance on a TV talk show, causing a deep and wide public dissatisfaction.
