Al-Jazeera satellite channel is the Muslim Brotherhood (MB)'s media arm against the Egyptian army, said Egyptian journalist Mohamed Fahmy. "Al Jazeera Mubasher Misr was open for the terrorist group. It adopted a clear position against the military. Its officials in Qatar have not realized the rules of journalism. they were so biased, and broke the code of journalistic ethics", Fahmy said. Mohamed Fahmy served as a correspondent for the Qatar-based channel for years. He was arrested by the Egyptian authorities in accusation of publishing false news in the case known as "Mariott Cell". He was sentenced to seven-year imprisonment in 2014. He added that the Al-Jazzera Mubasher Misr channel fabricated materials and videos to raise the public and international rebuke against the Egyptian authorities. He blamed the channel's policy for his 400-day imprisonment.
