Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood (MB)-linked Revolutionary Punishment group claimed Sunday responsibility for a terrorist attack against a security checkpoint on the Cairo-Faiyoum Road, Al-Bawaba News reported. "The attack left numerous casualties. Ambulances have been carrying the injured for more than an hour," a statement issued by the terrorist group read. The statement added this attack comes in response to what they called "police aggression" against MB affiliates Saturday in the Mediterranean city of Damietta, vowing to escalate violence against the state. Bloody police –MB clashes erupted Saturday in the village of Al-Basartta, Damietta, leaving six dead including three police personnel, according to Reuters. The Revolutionary Punishment group, which came to life in late January according to a FB video, claimed responsibility for a series of bombings including detonating the Egyptian Media Production City pylons in mid-April.
