U.S. president Barack Obama will meet leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on May 13, at the White House and Camp David the following day, according to a statement by the White House on Friday. The summit, attended by leaders of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar, will address the Gulf states' concerns over the Iranian nuclear deal as well as the Saudi-led Decisive Storm military campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen, the statement added. Gulf states voiced their growing concerns at the U.S.- Iran rapprochement amid Iranian intervention in neighboring Arab countries which, Arab observers argue, poses perils for Arab national security.
