The U.S. embassy in Cairo condemned the terrorist attacks targeting military checkpoints in Sinai, which left at least five soldiers killed and six injured, including civilians on Thursday. The embassy expressed U.S. full support to Egypt in the war against terrorism, delivering the country's deep condolences to the victims' families, in a statement released Thursday. U.S. secretary of state, John Kerry affirmed that such crimes "can't be justified or ignored, they need to be faced and stopped," adding that the U.S. "values its strategic relations with Egypt, and works hard to achieve common goals including the eradication of terrorism."
