The Council of Arab Ministries of Foreign Affairs approved Thursday a proposal to establish a joint Arab military force to combat terrorism and preserve the region stability, during the Arab summit held in Sharm El Sheikh, sky News Arabia reported. The council stressed on its commitment to preserve the Arab world's security, expressing its deep concern over the ongoing escalations which pose "serious threats to the region's security." Secretary General of the Arab League, Nabil Al Araby commissioned Egypt to invite the Armed Forces' staff to meet within a month to study the operational procedures and the budget required for the joint force establishment, to be discussed at an urgent meeting for the joint Arab defense board. The decisions were based on the second article of the Arab League charter and relevant articles of the Mutual Defense Treaty.
