Turkey's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Wednesday the war against Syria aims to threaten the Turkish state, adding that the Islamic State jihadist group (IS) was created to implement a western plan to destroy Turkey, in a speech at the opening ceremony of the Military Technology Center in Ankara. Former assistant of Egypt's foreign minister, Ambassador Hussein Haridy Told Al Bawaba EG that Erdogan's remarks are the outcome of his political failure. Erdogan stated that Turkish Muslims represent all Muslims before the West, claiming that his country will be the West's first target in its war against Islam. Haridi described Erdogan's statement as "shocking", confirming that his claims contradict with Islamic history. He stressed that Erdogan's administration has failed to establish good relations with the Middle East, adding that Turkey deserves a better leader.
