Gunmen opened fire Monday on Faisal police station in Suez, east of Cairo while riding a motorcycle, according to security reports. Deputy Interior Minister and Suez's Security Director, Major General Tariq Al Gazar said the assailants were forced to flee the scene amid fierce gun battles with the security guards at the station, adding that no injuries have been reported during the attack.
Gazar confirmed that security authorities have identified the perpetrators and are currently searching for them.
