Security forces succeeded Monday in defusing three explosive packs, one in Assiut, Upper Egypt, and two others in the Giza province, media reported. Al Azhar University Vice President in Assiut, Mohamed Shafi, told CBC Xtra TV channel that a group of students affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) terrorist group had demonstrated at the campus' gate. Security personnel found an explosive pack after they managed to disperse the protest and informed the police. Shafi said that the police quickly deployed to the scene and a bomb squad successfully defused the explosive pack. In Giza, Civil Protection units were able to thwart an attempt to blow up the State Council's building, after successfully defusing an explosive pack found on the stairs of the building. Meanwhile, Security forces found another explosive pack behind a police station in 6th of October. A bomb squad was able to defuse it.
