The military and political opposition groups in Aleppo, Syria rejected Sunday the UN Special Envoy, Staffan de Mistura's initiative to cease fire in the city. The Syrian Revolution General Commission said it wouldn't meet De Mistura before providing a suitable solution to the Syrian crisis, including the removal of Bashar Al-Assad regime. The commission added that the initiative should include all the Syrian cities. For his part, the Aleppo's Military Council Commander, Abdul-Jabbar al-Oqaidi, told Sky News channel that the council also refused to meet De Mistura, however they didn't reject the whole initiative. Oqaidi stated that the council will not accept any initiative that doesn't include all the Syrian cities as well as ousting Al-Assad regime, pointing out that the initiative violated the Syrian revolution's principles. Earlier Sunday, De Mistura met the Syrian Foreign Minister, Walid al-Moualem, to discuss his initiative and the possibility of sending the UN envoy delegation to Aleppo to examine the situation on the ground. In October 2014, De Mistura has provided a previous initiative to resolve the conflict in Syria, which offered a partial cease-fire in Aleppo, northern Syria.
