Danish Police forces shot early Sunday the man behind the deadly attacks on a free speech event and the city's main synagogue in the capital Copenhagen, leaving 2 civilians killed and 5 officers severely injured on Saturday. Police Officials stated in a press conference that the man was killed after opening fire on police, no officers were injured. A Jewish man was killed and two police officers injured at the city's synagogue, while one man was killed and three police officers injured in a shooting attack on a café hosting a debate on freedom of speech in northern Copenhagen. Surveillance videos suggested the same man carried out both attacks. No other people were involved, according to police officials. The event, titled Art, Blasphemy and the Freedom of Expression was organized by 68 Swedish artist Lars Vilks, who has faced numerous threats for caricaturing Prophet Mohamed in 2007, along with Francois Zimeray, the French ambassador to Denmark, none of them was injured. Danish authorities confirmed the two attacks were ‘terror' attacks targeting the artist and the Jewish synagogue in the capital Copenhagen.
