The Gaza-based organization, Hamas denied Saturday any intention to rule out Egypt as a mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, after Cairo court's verdict to label its military arm, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, a terrorist group, Aswat Masriya news reported. "Hamas didn't release a statement about rejecting Egypt as a broker with Israel," spokesperson of the movement, Samy Abu Zahri, stated to Anadolu News Agency. Meanwhile he denounced the Egyptian verdict against Qassam Brigades, describing it as "politicized." Saturday, the Cairo Court of Urgent Matters ruled to designate the military arm of Hamas, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, a terrorist group, after three days of the deadly attacks against the Egyptian army in Sinai Peninsula, which left at least 25 dead people and 46 injured, accusing Al Qassam of providing the militants with arms. Last August, Egypt succeeded in achieving a long-time truce between Palestine and Israel, to end the 50-day war in Gaza, which left the Strip devastated with more than 2000 killed people and 8710 injured.
