Egyptian President Abdel Fatah Al Sisi left Cairo heading to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Thursday, to take part in the 24th African Union (AU) Summit. In his first visit to Ethiopia since he took the office last July, Sisi will hold series of meetings with heads of African delegations, on the sidelines of the summit, including Ethiopian prime minister and President of South Sudan. On the sidelines of the summit's meetings, Sisi will be mandated by Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, as the head of Climate Change Committee on Saturday. First session of the summit will kick off on Friday at "Nelson Mandela" hall, AU's Conference Center. The 24th AU summit will go under the slogan "Year of Woman's empowerment and development in order to achieve the 2063 agenda." Egyptian-Ethiopian relations witnessed some tensions during the past two years following Egypt's objection to the storage capacity of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), which reaches 74bn cubic meters, and it threatens Egypt's share in the Nile River, according to Egypt.
